Following a tragic fire that destroyed the original facility in 2009, the hospital was temporarily relocated to the George Odlum Sports Stadium.
On November 16, 2025, an official handover ceremony in Vieux Fort marked the completion of the reconstruction of this iconic facility. The brand-new St. Jude Hospital is a beacon of modern infrastructure, fulfilling a promise to the community. With nearly 200 beds, the new hospital has doubled its capacity, offering expanded services in general medicine, maternity care, and healthcare foodservice.
